Public speaking requires the delivery of information efficiently, accurately and effectively. The listener is able to easily grasp what the speaker is trying to say. Usually, in formal schools, public speaking is usually only in Indonesian class. This is of course very lacking, even though out there, public speaking is very much needed.
For, you have to practice your public speaking skills, be it self-taught or by taking professional classes. Maybe students or college students can train it by making presentations or following organizations at school. In addition, there are some tips for practising public speaking skills for teens:
First, get used to being more active and confident. To train it is not easy. But don't waste your adolescence just like that. You can practice it by being more active in your opinion. Don't just be quiet when you join a discussion forum. Believe in yourself and express your opinion. You can also ask the teacher when there is a material that doesn't know anything. Trust me, little things like that can practice your public speaking even better.
The second, read a lot. Reading will give you more vocabulary. Not only that, but reading will also give you new things that might be interesting to talk about with friends later. You can recount what you get after reading books to your friends.
Make important points, not only beginners, people who are already proficient in public speaking usually make important points before speaking in public. This makes delivery easier and of course more structured.
Third, two-Way Communication Style. Listeners will be more interested if they feel involved in the conversation. Therefore, when speaking in public, you can ask the listener a few questions to create a two-way communication. Two-way conversation is also intended to make listeners more interested in the material you are presenting.
Public speaking in adolescents is an ability that will not be formed instantly. It takes a long process to train it. For this reason, there must be good encouragement from the people around him. If necessary, give them special attention that is really needed if you want to improve this one ability.
For you, teenagers who are trying to improve their public speaking skills, don't hesitate to keep practising. Feel free to speak up in public. Mistakes are common. These mistakes should not be used as walls that keep you from getting back up, but make them as sticks that help you when you fall.
