With the advancement of technology, human develops many useful ways to make things work easier. One of them is the way we communicate. Today, Indirect communication can be done through texting. One click, and the message is delivered speedily. In texting, we often see and use abbreviations as a convenient shortcut way to deliver a message. Here is several of texting abbreviations that you can use when you’re texting.

1. ROFL: rolling on the floor laughing

This acronym is used when responding to something really funny.

2. OMW: on my way

This acronym is used when we tell somebody that we are on our way.

3. NSFW: not safe for work

People use this acronym when telling somebody that something we sent might distract our work because it’s too distracting. For example; Here’s the link to the music video, but wait till you get home to watch, it’s NSFW.

4. LOL: laughing out loud

When something is funny, we respond with ‘LOL’.

5. LMK: let me know

Example: Hey, lmk if you need anything.

6. IDK: I don’t know

We use this to shorten ‘I don’t know’.

7. IMO: in my opinion

Similar to IMHO which means ‘in my humble opinion’.

8. TBH: to be honest

This phrase is used to indicate that you’re expressing your true opinion.

Example; Tbh, I don’t like you.

9. TMI: too much information

Usually used when someone reveals information that is shocking or unpleasant in some way. For example; I just learned that giant octopus has 3 hearts and 9 brains. TMI

10. TTYL: talk to you later

Another abbreviation that has similar meaning is TTYT (talk to you tommorow).
